• Emerson engineers receive honors from ISA peers -- Martin Zielinski and Carl Jones recognized for outstanding achievement in process control during annual ISA EXPO 2006 -- AUSTIN, TX, Oct. 16, 2006 -- Emerson Process Management is pleased to announce that two Emerson engineers, Martin Zielinski and Carl R. Jones, were recognized for outstanding achievement in setting the standard for process control during the annual ISA Honors and Awards Gala held in conjunction with the ISA EXPO 2006 in Houston today. • ARCADIS' White Creek Project wins Rehabilitation Project of the Year Award -- DENVER, Oct. 16, 2006 -- ARCADIS, an international consulting and engineering firm, is pleased to announce our Nashville Metro Water Services White's Creek sewer basin project won Trenchless Technology magazine's Rehabilitation Project of the Year Award. Under a five-year contract, ARCADIS, in a design-build partnership with Reynold Inc., was responsible for determining the most cost-effective rehabilitation program for restoring the wastewater collection system infrastructure in the sewer basin, covering over 20,000 acres. Utilizing a unique performance-based contract and an extremely efficient work plan resulted in a program that exceeded project goals by 22%. With a final total cost of $6.8 million, the project came in under Metro's budget. • Sterling Construction named to Forbes List of America's 200 Best Small Companies -- HOUSTON, Oct. 16, 2006 -- Sterling Construction Co. Inc. today announced that it has, for the first time, been named one of "America's 200 Best Small Companies" by Forbes magazine. Sterling was ranked No. 31. • China Evergreen signs for new BOT wastewater treatment project -- GUANGZHOU, China, Oct. 16, 2006 -- China Evergreen Environmental Corp announced today that it has entered into an agreement to build-operate-transfer, or BOT, a new municipal wastewater treatment project with a capacity to treat 20,000 metric tons of municipal wastewater per day. The new facility is to be located in Tianjin, the largest industrial and port city in northern China, and is expected to generate an average revenue to CEEC of approximately $650,000 per year over the total project life of 20 years. The facility is CEEC's sixth project contracted on a BOT basis...

• TAS commissions the district cooling industry's first packaged central plant project at Jumeirah Beach -- DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Oct. 16, 2006 -- The GCC's first packaged central plant, in the region's rapidly expanding district cooling industry, is now on-line and providing chilled water in support of the Jumeirah Beach Residence Complex. The complex, which comprises 22 million square feet across 36 residential and four hotel towers, in addition to shopping malls, restaurants and office space, is a premier property overlooking the Arabian Gulf in the heart of the new Dubai. The Jumeirah Beach Residence packaged central plant was designed, manufactured and commissioned by TAS. • Health care design guidance provided in new ASHRAE courses -- ATLANTA, Oct. 16, 2006 -- Guidance to help designers create safe indoor environments in health care facilities is provided in new educational courses at the AHR Exposition held in conjunction with ASHRAE's Winter Meeting. In all, ASHRAE will conduct three professional development seminars and 14 short courses at the ASHRAE meeting, Jan. 27-31 in Dallas. • HDR names Carpenter national technical director for water reuse -- PHOENIX, Oct. 13, 2006 -- HDR has promoted Guy Carpenter from water quality program manager to the firm's national technical director of water reuse. In his new role, Carpenter is responsible for nationwide business and technical development and client management in this rapidly growing area. Carpenter is based in HDR's Phoenix office. Prior to joining HDR in 2003, Carpenter was the water resources manager for Gilbert, AZ, a 100% water reuse community and the nation's fastest growing city at that time. He helped develop Arizona's statewide water reuse regulations and local construction standards and led the creation of the Arizona Section of the WateReuse Association. He has presented numerous papers on the proper role of reclaimed water in integrated water resources planning. He was a technical reviewer for "Good to the Last Drop: A Practitioner's Guide to Water Reuse," a book prepared by HDR for the American Public Works Association...
