Nu Flow awarded large pipe restoration project
• Combined pipe and sewer restoration is no longer a 'pipe dream'
SARASOTA, FL, Aug. 23, 2007 -- Pipe lining technicians for the Nu Flow Companies began water pipe and drain line restoration of the luxury retirement community of Plymouth Harbor on Sarasota Bay in Florida last month. The multi-million dollar contract is the largest combined technology project ever awarded in the small diameter pipe lining industry. The contract signifies a growing trend in the use of epoxy pipe lining to address deteriorating water infrastructure globally.
Established in 1966, Plymouth Harbor on Sarasota Bay is a non-profit, 25-story, multi-structure complex with full amenities and services, including its own skilled nursing facility. Home to judges, a Nobel Prize recipient, artists, clergy, academians and CEOs of U.S. and international corporations, the community is distinguished by its innovative architectural design and the world-class services enjoyed by its mostly-senior residents.
Perched on 16 stunning acres of Florida coastline, Plymouth Harbor's facilities are first-class, and they take a proactive stance in maintaining the property and residents' comfort. When plumbing concerns arose, the Board's primary concern was minimizing disruption to residents, so the time, cost, and destruction of traditional re-piping were simply not feasible.
"We began investigating epoxy lining companies in the summer of 2006," said Harry Hobson, President and CEO of Plymouth Harbor. "Nu Flow was awarded the contract in April, 2007 based on their experience and reputation, and the fact that they were the only company capable of providing both drain and potable pipe lining."
"The success of this project will be measured by excellence in workmanship and a high degree of resident satisfaction," says Hobson, adding, "The NuFlow team has been very professional, has demonstrated an excellent work ethic, and has maintained great communication with residents and staff. With the project well underway, they're scoring high marks in all categories. We couldn't be more pleased that we chose Nu Flow to address this important capital improvement project."
"A project of this size and nature typically involves at least two lining companies," said Nu Flow President, Cameron Manners. "Re-piping would require multiple contractors to repair invasive damage and could take years to complete." Nu Flow's restoration of the entire inside infrastructure began in June and is slated for completion by late summer of 2008.
The Nu Flow Companies manufacture and install pipe and sewer restoration products around the world in applications ranging from domestic water piping, HVAC and drain systems, military fire sprinkler systems and conduit, to underground utilities and lead service piping. Nu Flow is the only pipe and drain rehabilitation company which both manufactures and installs combined technologies for potable water lines as well as trenchless sewer repair. An industry leader in the "one-stop-shop" concept, Nu Flow has added whole-structure water filtration to its product line. Non-destructive restoration of potable and drain lines, as well as whole structure bio water filtration, establish Nu Flow as the first and only company to offer complete inside infrastructure rehabilitation from a single source.
Adjacent to St. Armands Circle and minutes from Sarasota Bradenton Airport, Plymouth Harbor on Sarasota Bay offers a lifestyle devoid of any burdensome responsibility of home ownership, while adding all of the amenities of a first-class hotel and the safety net of on-site health services. The many customized residence options allow creation of a home that expresses personal style. For the most openness and light, Architects Frank Folsom Smith and Louis F. Schneider designed Plymouth Harbor' interior atriums after a Denver landmark: the Brown Palace Hotel. Every three floors are grouped as a spacious colony, sharing an atrium and balcony. Each colony has its own association for events and maintenance, but they often gather for community-wide occasions and volunteer projects. Plymouth Harbor is singularly devoted to elevating the complete quality of life among all its residents.
