Hill International to supervise water, wastewater rehabilitation projects in Romania

MARLTON, NJ, & BUCHAREST, Romania, Jan 4, 2007 -- Hill International, the worldwide construction consulting firm, announced today that it has been awarded a contract from the Municipality of Bucharest to provide design supervision and construction supervision services in connection with the rehabilitation of sewerage and water supply projects throughout Bucharest. The four-year contract has an estimated value to Hill of approximately EUR 5.5 million ($7.2 million).

Hill will be providing pre-construction, works supervision and training services on the EUR 70 million ($92 million) program. The program's focus is to build water works infrastructure to support a population that is expected to grow from 17,000 to 138,000 over the next 30 years. Projects include rehabilitation of existing sewerage and water supply systems, construction of new systems, and rehabilitation of the associated urban roads. Construction is estimated to begin in September 2007 and is estimated to be completed by September 2010.

"These much-needed projects will have a dramatic effect on the quality of life for the growing population of Bucharest," said Raouf S. Ghali, President of Hill's Project Management Group (International). "Hill is excited to be a participant in such an important program," Ghali added.
