Dudek awarded contracts to help Coachella Valley communities improve water
• Region's growth contributes to municipalities' increased infrastructure needs.
PALM DESERT, CA, Jan. 30, 2007 -- Dudek today announced it was awarded three major contracts to provide engineering services to help Coachella Valley communities improve their water infrastructure in response to rapid population growth.
"With Riverside County's continuous growth, municipalities must keep pace in meeting the region's infrastructure needs," said Mike Metts, Dudek's engineering services manager. "Dudek will assist the various agencies' efforts to provide their communities with increased water services by planning new facilities and acquiring necessary easements."
Dudek's new Riverside County infrastructure-related projects include:
-- Obtaining right-of-way easements to help the Coachella Valley Water District manage and maintain its facilities. The easements include those related to a new 16-mile water transmission main that is a key component in providing the community with increased water services.
-- Assisting the City of Coachella in planning the development of a surface water treatment facility. This new facility will help in meeting the city's increasing water demands.
-- Updating a water system master plan for the City of Indio/Indio Water Authority. This comprehensive plan will address the city's distribution system needs as well as provide recommendations for facility maintenance and operational program standards.
