Sept. 24, 2007 -- Oman Power and Water Procurement Company has announced the list of local and international companies that have qualified to bid for a project to build, own and operate a new power and water desalination plant in Salalah, which will have a capacity of 400 megawatts and 15 million gallons per day.

They are International Power, Mubadala National Trading, Maropini Corporation, Neon Vinosa, General Electric International, Semicorb Yitilitz, Malcov Pierrehard, Saudi Ogeh, Mitsoi, W J Towell and Transfield Service Infrastructure.
