PHOENIX, June 7, 2007 -- Jim Pembroke, P.E., has been named the recipient of the George Warren Fuller Award by the Arizona Water and Pollution Control Association, the state section of the American Water Works Association. The highest honor given at the state level, this award is given annually to individuals who have provided distinguished service to the water industry and contributed to the advancement of water works practice.

Pembroke is a vice president and water/wastewater marketing manager for the Phoenix engineering office. He has more than 20 years of diverse water and wastewater experience, designing and managing projects for various utilities throughout Arizona. Pembroke is active in the American Water Works Association and currently serves on its Section Services committee. He also is active in the Water Environment Federation and past president of the American Water and Pollution Control Association.

The George Warren Fuller Award commemorates the sound engineering skill, brilliant diplomatic talent and construction leadership of its namesake, who was instrumental in codifying and standardizing water works practice in 1920.
