NEW ORLEANS, LA, July 16, 2007 -- Weston Solutions Inc. (WESTON®) announced today the award of a $4.1 million contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, for Sampling, Analysis, and Characterization of Post-Hurricane Katrina Inner Harbor Navigational Canal (IHNC), New Orleans, Louisiana. This contract will complete the sampling and analysis started in July 2005 and interrupted by Hurricane Katrina.

The firm fixed-price contract will provide environmental work in support of construction dredging for a lock replacement project on the IHNC. The IHNC serves as a major commercial navigation channel connecting the Mississippi River to the Inner Harbor and the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (MRGO). WESTON's scope of work includes development of Field Sampling (FSP) and Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPP); collection of sediments, soil, fill, and water for physical, chemical and biological analysis; performing analytical chemistry and biological tests; and completion of data reports critical to successful project execution.

Patrick G. McCann, WESTON's Chairman, CEO and President said, "Our engineers and scientists are dedicated to solving the complex coastal and restoration challenges on the Gulf Coast. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the New Orleans District, Hurricane Protection Office and the City of New Orleans and are committed to providing the sustainable solutions needed to deliver lasting, tangible benefits to the region."

Sampling will include forty-nine in-channel stations within the IHNC channel; fourteen stations on the banks of the IHNC; 4 reference areas (Mississippi River Ref; Mitigation Site Ref., Marine Ref., and Bayou Laloutre); 2 disposal areas (Mississippi River and Mitigation Site), and Bayou Bienvenue.

WESTON is currently General Contractor for the design-build project at the 17th Street and London Avenue Canals in New Orleans, Louisiana to increase pumping capacity of the outfall canals into Lake Pontchartrain in the event of a major storm surge. The project team is working round the clock and is on track to double pumping capacity at these locations before the height of hurricane season.
