PORTLAND, OR, Nov. 8, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Northwest Pipe Co. reported it has received a letter of intent from W.W. Clyde & Company of Springville, Utah, for about $17 million of welded steel pipe for the Point of the Mountain Aqueduct, a project for the Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake City and Sandy.
Northwest Pipe will supply about 81,800 feet of steel pipe in diameters ranging from 60 inches to 84 inches. The pipe is expected to be manufactured in the Company's Adelanto, California, division, with delivery scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2005.
Northwest Pipe manufactures welded steel pipe in two business segments. Its Water Transmission Group is a leading supplier of large diameter, high-pressure, steel pipe products used primarily for water transmission in the United States and Canada. Its Tubular Products Group manufactures smaller diameter steel pipe for a wide range of construction, agricultural, industrial and mechanical applications.
