City of Twin Falls, OMI celebrate 20-year partnership

The city of Twin Falls contracted OMI -- a unit of CH2M Hill -- to operate its wastewater plant in 1985. Today, OMI services include biosolids management, industrial pretreatment, operation and management of the pretreatment facility, and operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility.

TWIN FALLS, ID, May 27, 2005 -- Marking 20 years of partnership and progress, the city of Twin Falls and Operations Management International Inc. (OMI) recognized their public-private partnership for wastewater services with a May 25 ribbon cutting ceremony to mark OMI's new membership as part of the Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce.

"OMI has been a truly great partner with the city of Twin Falls. They are considered part of the city and have always been there whenever we have requested any assistance or expertise," said Twin Falls City Manager Tom Courtney in his remarks at the ceremony. "We are proud to have a long-term contract and we appreciate all those associated with OMI and the work they do."

The city of Twin Falls contracted OMI to operate its wastewater plant in 1985. Today, OMI services include biosolids management, industrial pretreatment, operation and management of the pretreatment facility, and operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility.

OMI has established a strong presence in the community organizing and participating in events including Western Days, Water Awareness Week, Band Shell Restoration, and Festival of Trees.

OMI has won multiple awards for safety, laboratory excellence and compliance in Twin Falls, including a national award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for excellence in its biosolids management program.
