VANCOUVER, BC, Canada, Dec. 6, 2005 -- Preparations are underway for GLOBE 2006, a conference and trade fair on the business of the environment, taking place in Vancouver, British Columbia, March 29-31. The Globe Foundation announced today that executive-level speakers from companies and organizations such as the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC), General Electric, Home Depot, and Unilever will be in attendance. Organizers are also pleased to announce the participation of Elliot Morley, Minister of State, Climate Change and Environment, Government of the UK.

More than 10,000 participants, 2,000 conference delegates and 400 exhibitors representing 75 countries will attend GLOBE 2006 this March. This is the 9th biennial gathering of the world's leading experts on the business of the environment, and is one of the largest and most important international gatherings of environmental business leaders and corporate environmental managers.

GLOBE 2006 will centre around four main conference themes including the new track on Finance and Sustainability where relationships between sustainable development and finance will be explored with a focus on the investment industry, corporate reporting, regulation and policy, and business practices. Other themes include Corporate Sustainability, Energy and Environment, and Building Better Cities.
