May 28, 2002 -- AwwaRF is looking for volunteers to participate in a survey about chromium and boron.
Entitled "Project 2759: Occurrence Survey for Boron and Hexavalent Chromium," the survey seeks to determine boron, hexavalent chromium, and total chromium concentrations in U.S. drinking waters through an occurrence survey of raw and treated water supplies.
The survey effort consists of two sampling activities:
1. National Occurrence Survey: Participating utilities will be asked to sample selected source waters. Sampling kits will be provided. Utility-specific analytical results will be provided to participating utilities.
2. Treatment Profile Survey: Participating utilities will collect samples at representative locations in their water treatment plant and distribution system. Once more, sampling kits and analytical results will be provided to participating utilities.
Sampling efforts will be taking place between July and December 2002. For more information about this project, send an email to [email protected].
More information about this project can be viewed at http://www.mcguireinc.com/survey/info.htm.
Readers interested in participating in the National Occurrence Survey should visit http://www.mcguireinc.com/survey/ and follow the link at the bottom to complete the preliminary utility screening survey.
After completing the screening survey, readers can indicate their willingness to also participate in the Treatment Profile Survey.
