Hollister, CA, May 30, 2002 -- Two of the biggest brand names in hazardous material storage buildings, Safety Storage, Inc. and Haz-Stor, have announced that they are now joined as Safety Storage, Inc.
Each company has a long history in the business, with Haz-Stor first emerging in 1906 to provide fire safety products, then Safety Storage in 1982 with its line of pre-fabricated, relocatable steel building for housing chemicals and hazardous materials. Headquarters will reside at the Hollister facility.
Heading Safety Storage Inc. is Mark Gibb, newly appointed President. "We will bring together the best features of Safety Storage and Haz-Stor designs as a single, comprehensive product offering. In addition, the synergies gained by joining sales, engineering, purchasing and manufacturing as a single entity will provide customers with more price competitive products, provide greater options, speed delivery and enhance customer support."
Gibb adds that, while the parent company is Safety Storage, Inc., the two product brands will continue to be marketed. He explains, "The Safety Storage brand is our primary line and will be sold through our manufacturer's rep network. The Haz-Stor brand will be sold via our government and distribution channels."
In addition to comprehensive custom-engineering solutions, the Safety Storage brand encompasses seven pre-engineered series of buildings and locker designs which are supported by hundred of models and sizes. Numerous options, from lighting, AC and heating to sensors, controllers and floor grating, are provided to meet specific safety, environmental, regulatory and customer site requirements.
Haz-Stor's product lines include hazmat storage lockers, outdoor storage buildings for drums, totes, pails and other containers; pre-fabricated heavy steel structures including sumps, lockers, and buildings for multiple uses and industries; and hazardous waste compaction systems and drum crushers. Both brands provide full compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements, and meet pertinent building and fire codes.
Gibb comes to Safety Storage from Accenture, the world's leading provider of consulting services, where he led strategy consulting engagements with Fortune 500 firms. Prior to that, he held various management titles with Federal Signal Corporation, a $1.1 billion diversified manufacturer of industrial niche products.
