DETROIT, DECEMBER 20, 2016 -- Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced new charges related to the Flint water crisis today.

Detroit's CBS news reports that two former State of Michigan Emergency Managers, Darnell Earley and Gerald Ambrose, will face multiple 20-year felonies for their failure to protect the citizens of Flint from health hazards caused by contaminated drinking water.

Along with ex-City of Flint executives Howard Croft and Daugherty Johnson, Earley and Ambrose also face felony charges of false pretenses and conspiracy to commit false pretenses.

In a statement following the announcement, Schuette said, “The crisis in Flint was a casualty of arrogance, disdain and a failure of management. … We will proceed to deliver justice and hold those accountable who broke the law.”
