SACRAMENTO, Calif., Feb. 22, 2016 -- California American Water has introduced a new app, available for download now in the Apple and Android app stores that allows customers and other concerned residents to report water waste when they see it. Photos will be geo tagged and uploaded directly so that California American Water can investigate the leak or waste.
“As the drought continues, most of our customers are doing a great job of conserving water,” said drought manager Evan Jacobs. “This app gives customers the opportunity to report leaks and water waste quickly so that we can find water waste and leaks and address them as soon as possible.”
Customers are encouraged to use the app to report water waste and leaks. However, if there is a water waste emergency or a leak is causing property damage, they are encouraged to call the toll free 24-hour hotline to report for immediate assistance.
“Downloading the free app is simple,” said Jacobs. “Just search for ‘CA American Water’ in the store and it will be the first result.”
Through the app, California American Water customers can also learn about the conservation programs offered in each of our districts around the state. Raising awareness of our free Waterwise Home Surveys, rebates for water saving home appliances and free water smart devices will help customers control water use.
