Sterling, VA, June 9, 2003 -- In May, 2003, Sutron Corporation's Hydrological Services Division received a total of $520,669 in work orders from the South Florida Water Management District, bringing the total work orders year to date (2003) to $878,632.
As defined in the new work orders, Sutron will assist District staff in completing a comprehensive review of historical hydrological data and in preparing routine mandated reports as well as providing data evaluation assistance. The contract remains in force through FY 2006.
In December, 2001, Steve Tarte, Vice President, opened Sutron's first Florida office and established their Hydrological Services Division in Brandon, Florida. Since that time, Sutron has opened two more Florida offices, one in West Palm Beach, specializing in water resources engineering, and a Latin America liaison office in Casselberry. AMJ Equipment of Lakeland, Florida, is Sutron's partner for sales throughout the southeastern United States.

Sutron is a major supplier of real-time environmental remote monitoring and control systems for several Federal Agencies, including the US Geological Survey, the National Ocean Service, a division of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the National Weather Service.
