U.S. Coast Guard to receive major environmental engineering services

The U.S. Coast Guard awarded MWH a five-year, $60-million indefinite delivery/quantity contract to provide environmental engineering services.


BROOMFIELD, CO, Dec. 10, 2013 -- The U.S. Coast Guard has awarded MWH, a provider of strategic consulting, environmental engineering and construction services, a five-year, $60-million (total contract value) indefinite delivery and quantity contract to provide a wide variety of environmental engineering services.

According to the contract, MWH plans to provide engineering services for the Coast Guard's shore facilities as well as offshore aids-to-navigation facilities. Those services will include various environmental engineering inspections, investigations, assessments, impact statements, cost estimates, design, construction, and environmental management. Contract work will focus on facilities along the Great Lakes, inland rivers and oceans, as well as those in U.S. territories.

While the scope of the upcoming contract work is still be determined, previous contract work in the 15-year relationship between MWH Global and the U.S. Coast Guard resulted in wastewater treatment repair projects in Port O'Conner and Grand Isle, Texas, as well as oil/water separator replacement and NPDES permits in Puerto Rico.

MWH has provided environmental engineering services at USCG facilities throughout the U.S. and its territories since 1997 worth around $14 million. Over the past 16 years, MWH has delivered a variety of environmental services for shore facilities and offshore aid to navigation facilities under multiple USCG contracts with CEU Cleveland, CEU Juneau, FDCC Pacific, and FDCC Atlantic. Work has included the full range of environmental compliance, restoration, liability, planning, and sustainability services, as well as work at remote and uninhabited island locations requiring complex logistics and coordination.
