EPA releases report on status, trends, and initiatives in watershed management
November 6, 2001 — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has released a new report entitled "Protecting and Restoring America's Watersheds."
The report, available on its web site, describes recent successes and ongoing barriers to effectively using the watershed approach to manage the quality of the nation's water.
The report brings together the ideas of local stakeholders, government employees, and academic evaluators who assess the current state of watershed management and suggest recommendations for improvement in areas such as awareness, monitoring and research, funding, and technical assistance.
