EPA offers new information on membrane filtration
June 5, 2001--The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recently completed a study of two types of low-pressure membrane filtration to remove waterborne pathogens.
The study, which can be downloaded as a PDF file or ordered as a CD-ROM product from EPA, includes an overview of membrane filtration technology, a survey of relevant regulation, a discussion of membrane integrity issues, and information on current treatment practices.
While primarily focused on drinking water, this study may be of interest to WERF subscribers dealing with water reuse and/or treatment issues. Information can be found on the Web at
