October 25, 2001 — Local officials in every community should be taking steps to guard against possible terrorist threats, and to prepare to respond in case such an attack does occur.
Between November 13-19, 2001, the Public Entity Risk Institute (PERI) will conduct an online event focusing on what small- and medium-sized communities can do to prepare for and cope with the threat of terrorism.
The program will be moderated by Lawrence J. Hogan, a former U.S. Congressman from Maryland, county executive, and FBI agent. He is the editor of a recently published book, Terrorism: Defensive Strategies for Individuals, Companies, and Governments.
