• Global business partnership enables global growth, improves efficiencies and minimizes liabilities
DENVER, Nov. 6, 2008 -- CH2M HILL, a global full-service engineering, procurement, construction and operations firm, has signed a strategic alliance agreement with PETRONAS Technical Services Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Malaysian oil and gas multinational PETRONAS.
Under the agreement, the two companies will work together to realize PETRONAS' aspiration and objectives in the area of environmental management and technology, including the implementation of management practices and technology solutions to meet PETRONAS' corporate sustainability goals. The alliance is anticipated to help support PETRONAS' global growth strategy and strengthen its position in the oil and gas industry.
"This alliance presents great opportunities and benefits for both PETRONAS and CH2M HILL," said Steve Gelman, president of CH2M HILL's Industrial Systems Business Group. "Through this partnership, we will transfer knowledge and integrate technologies and processes to proactively address some of the most pressing global issues related to global climate change, energy and maximizing the use of limited water resources."

PETRONAS and CH2M HILL are working closely together to assess and prioritize plant-level and corporate service needs, and to subsequently define the portfolio of projects that will be conducted under the alliance agreement.
PETRONAS is wholly-owned by the Malaysian government.
