GREENWOOD, SC, Aug. 22, 2008 -- Actaris announces NSF approval of their residential single jet water meters to complete the Flostar product line. Actaris, an Itron Company, now offers a full NSF-61 approved single jet water meter line, available in residential through commercial and industrial sizes. The addition of the NSF approved residential meters will allow Actaris to meet the needs of more utilities across North America.
NSF-61 is the safe drinking water standard that dictates the conditions to which water can be exposed. On August 19, 2008, the Flostar product line approval was officially listed on the NSF website. "This achievement is the direct result of a collective effort from the Actaris team and its suppliers," states Jackie Major, Product Manager for residential water meters.
Chuck Strawn, Vice President and General Manager, shared his thoughts on the NSF acceptance. "Since the highly successful introduction of our Commercial and Industrial Flostar products in 2004, we have intentionally focused our efforts on exceeding all relevant standards. With the National Sanitary Foundation approval of our newly introduced residential Flostar, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to provide the highest quality products, to ensure the health of the general public, and to fulfill the needs of the water industry."
Actaris is a subsidiary of Itron Inc., a leading technology provider to the global energy and water industries.
