SOHAR, Oman, Dec. 2, 2008 -- Pall Corporation has supplied a Pall Aria™ membrane filtration unit to Global Engineering Systems (GES F.Z.R), which is now operating at Saud Bahwan Palm Gardens, Sohar, Sultanate of Oman, an exclusive residential project of the Saud Bahwan Group.
The Pall Aria unit is installed downstream of a Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR*) manufactured by Global Engineering Systems. Global Engineering Systems is the licensee of AnoxKaldnes, the inventors & patent holders of the MBBR process and have installed over 100 MBBR* technology sewage treatment plants of varying capacities throughout the Middle East, India and Africa.
The Pall Aria unit treats the residential wastewater using modules containing organic hollow fibre membranes made of high crystalline polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF).
Treated water produced by the Pall Aria unit is used for irrigation purposes. However, the treated water meets and exceeds specifications set for superior applications such as cooling tower make-up and sanitary use.
This unique combination of MBBR & Pall Aria provides an extremely small footprint treatment plant yielding superior quality treated effluent.
Pall & Global Engineering Systems expect to replicate their successful co-operation in many more projects around the region where space is scarce and demand on quality of treated effluent is high.
Pall Corporation is a global leader in the rapidly growing field of filtration, separation and purification.
Global Engineering Systems FZC (GESFZC) is involved in activities such as water & wastewater treatment/recycling systems; pollution control & monitoring systems; energy & water conservation products & consulting; environmental, health & safety consulting.
