• Acquisition of Northern EnviroSearch to enable MWH to build stronger presence, expand service offerings in Canada

BROOMFIELD, CO, April 3, 2008 -- MWH, a global provider of environmental engineering, strategic consulting and construction services, announced the acquisition of Northern EnviroSearch Ltd., an environmental consultancy headquartered in Calgary. Northern EnviroSearch provides environmental project planning, management, and implementation services to energy, industrial and other clients in the Canadian market.

The transaction enhances MWH's strategy to build a stronger presence in Canada and will allow the company to increase the breadth and depth of its service offerings in the country. With this acquisition, MWH will now be able to broaden its market beyond the oil and gas industry to other natural resource and industrial clients in the region.

"Northern EnviroSearch has valuable and proven environmental expertise that will help MWH expand its presence in the strategically important region of Western Canada," said Alan Krause, President and Chief Operating Officer of MWH. "Our business in Canada has been growing steadily over the past few years and, with the addition of the EnviroSearch locations, its portfolio of services, and environmental experts, we are better positioned to pursue a broader range of opportunities."

Formed in 1998 and headed by Bob Raina, Northern EnviroSearch has grown steadily over the past 10 years in Western Canada and the Northwest Territories. The 30-employee company has project offices in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Lloydminster, Alberta.

"Combining EnviroSearch and MWH will allow us to significantly expand the level and types of services we offer," said Bob Raina, the MWH EnviroSearch Business Unit Leader. "The strength of our combined client relationships, a qualified professional staff and experienced management team will position us well for continued growth and expansion."

Creating the footprint necessary to serve clients and expand services in Canada continues to be a priority and strategic objective for MWH, which also has offices in Toronto and Vancouver that provide engineering services to the hydroelectric, mining and industrial sectors.

Headquartered in Broomfield, Colo., MWH provides water, wastewater, energy, natural resource, program management, consulting and construction services to industrial, municipal and government, and other private sector and public sector clients in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, India, Asia and the Pacific Rim.
