Denver to host StormCon '06 in July
SANTA BARBARA, CA, Jan. 30, 2006 -- The 5th Annual StormCon -- the nation's largest surface water quality conference and exposition -- trade show will be presented July 24-27 by Forester Communications in Denver, CO, at the Adam's Mark hotel.
The event will feature 216 presenters from 35 states and five countries -- making this the largest program ever -- who will address proven techniques for solving community, construction-site, and industrial stormwater pollution. Over 1,000 municipal and government leaders, federal agency representatives, engineers, contractors, and consultants are expected to attend StormCon. In addition, more than 175 vendors and service providers will help make StormCon the nation's largest exhibition of stormwater equipment, products, and services.
This year's conference offers four program tracks: BMPs in Practice, Managing the Stormwater Program, Research & Testing of BMPs, and Comprehensive Water Quality Management. New and expanded program areas include regional BMPs, low-impact development techniques, construction-site runoff, an EPA workshop and event, and a panel discussion on BMPs.
Full-day pre-conference workshops (to be announced) will be offered on Monday, July 24. The review course and exam for Certified Professional in Storm Water Quality (CPSWQ) certification will be held Sunday, July 23, and Monday, July 24, respectively.
The opening session keynote speaker will be announced in February. Past keynote speakers have included: Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Jean-Michel Cousteau, and Dr. John C. Ogden.
