PASADENA, CA, Dec. 12, 2006 -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced today that a subsidiary company received a 1- year contract extension in September 2006 from the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) to provide system-wide wastewater planning services through August 2007. MSD is the local municipal agency responsible for managing wastewater and stormwater collection and treatment for the City of St. Louis and a large portion of the greater St. Louis County metropolitan area in Missouri.
Officials did not disclose the contract value. Jacobs is beginning the fourth year of a multi-year planning contract supporting MSD's long-range master plan to deliver an estimated $3.7 billion of phased city- and county- wide infrastructure improvements.
The master-planning program has increased emphasis on hydraulic modeling and watershed planning, reducing sanitary sewer overflows, and developing a long-term control plan for combined sewer overflows. Jacobs' services include engineering analysis of proposed improvements addressing compliance with environmental regulatory requirements, future growth, system efficiency, required expansion, and project priority.
