Florida water quality rules prompt reaction from officials
TALLAHASSEE, FL, Nov. 16, 2010 -- Florida government officials are criticizing EPA’s proposed numeric nutrient criteria, citing the cost and ineffectiveness of compliance.
There is a 15-month interim period before the rules go into effect. Of the additional time, Gov. Charlie Crist said he was “grateful” because it will give the Florida Department of Environmental Protection time to evaluate the “cost, effectiveness and best method for implementing” the criteria.
