Hungerford & Terry wins $5M in new arsenic removal contracts
• Eight projects in three western states to be completed in 2008
CLAYTON, NJ, Nov. 27, 2007 -- Hungerford & Terry Inc. announced today that it has received contracts worth a total of $5 million from eight municipal authorities and water utilities in the states of New Mexico, California and Nevada for the design and fabrication of its arsenic removal systems.
The new contracts for H&T's arsenic removal equipment include: two installations for the American Water Company (Isleton, CA and Walnut Grove, CA); one system for the Churchill County Planning Department, Fallon, NV; two installations for the City of Rio Rancho, NM; one system for the Lake Elsinore Water District, CA; and two installations for the Town of Bernalillo, NM.
The arsenic removal process employed by H&T is coagulation/filtration. The systems for Isleton, Walnut Grove, and Churchill County also had excess iron and manganese, as well as manganese. At these installations, GreensandPlus™, from Inversand, and anthracite were used to remove the iron, manganese, and arsenic to acceptable levels. At the other six installations, sand and anthracite, with a pre-feed of ferric chloride, were used to remove the arsenic.
"H&T has been helping to purify and protect water supplies in the U.S. and abroad for nearly 100 years," said Alan Davis, president of H&T. "In the Western United States, in particular, with its continued rapid growth and expanded water requirements, we see a strong ongoing need for out enhanced filtration systems. In total, H&T systems and processes have become known the world over for their quality, effectiveness and cost-efficiency, resulting in a healthy ROI and a short payback."
Since 1909, Hungerford & Terry has designed and manufactured thousands of systems incorporating standard and unique water treatment technologies.
