LAS VEGAS, Dec. 11, 2007 -- A wide range of high-profile private- and public-sector organizations, including many household names in the United States and abroad, are stepping forward to lend their support to the inaugural WaterSmart Innovations Conference and Exposition, slated for Oct. 8-10, 2008, in Las Vegas.

Presented by the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) in conjunction with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's WaterSense Program, WaterSmart Innovations is predicted to be the largest and most comprehensive conservation-specific conference of its kind in the world.

Among the organizations partnering with the SNWA are the Alliance for Water Efficiency, California Urban Water Conservation Council, the California-Nevada Section of the American Water Works Association, Irrigation Association, American Society of Irrigation Consultants, Audubon International and the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials.

"As a first-time conference, the prominence of our partners lends credibility to the conference's goal of enabling attendees and exhibitors to learn from one another about the growing and vital importance of water efficiency on a global scale," said Doug Bennett, SNWA conservation manager and the conference's strategic relations coordinator.

Conference sponsors include Rain Bird Corp., Caroma USA, MWH Americas Inc., National Association of Home Builders, TCB AECOM Inc., Ewing Irrigation, Black & Veatch, Global Water and the Springs Preserve.

WaterSmart Innovations will serve to broaden the knowledge of innovations in water conservation including products, programs and outreach.
