SANFORD, FL, Dec. 20, 2007 -- ADAPCO Inc. today announced Ian Knapp has been named Vice President of the company's Environmental Solutions division. ADAPCO Environmental Solutions (AES) has distributed specialized chemistry and equipment to the wastewater treatment industry for more than a decade. In this role, Knapp will be responsible for the overall leadership of AES, including expansion of the current product line to deliver a more extensive offering to ADAPCO customers.

Knapp began his 25-year career in the water business at Millipore Corporation, serving in finance and branch and sales operations management roles. Knapp then founded a successful startup company, before moving into business development positions with Florida Progress. He was then hired as president of Memtek Corporation, and after returning the company to profitability, it was sold to Wheelabrator Technologies. Knapp served as director of marketing and business development for Wheelabrator Technologies until the organization was acquired by USFilter. Knapp then joined the Marmon Group, where he served as president of four of the Group's business units and led the acquisition of Alamo Water. Knapp then worked as a marketing consultant to emerging technology firms before accepting the position of president and director of Cirqua Customized Water.
Knapp earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of South Florida in Tampa and a certificate in dispute mediation from Ventura College in California.
