Attendees' impressions of national drives meeting
• So what's it like to be at an ABB national sales meeting? These channel partners tell ABB what they think.
NEW BERLIN, WI, Sept. 28, 2007 -- As the manufacturer, you make all the plans, and reserve the space at the downtown Hilton in Milwaukee. Then send out the invitations, which include a National Sales Meeting that starts on a Saturday night, and goes into session all day Sunday and Monday.
You add, as a splash, a factory tour, so 200 of your reps, serving the Heating, Air Conditioning and Ventilation market, can visit your factory (many for the first time). And then plan to wrap-up the event with the option to start fishing at 6:00 AM on Lake Michigan.
And then roll out your meeting and events. "Oh, we know how we think the meeting went," notes Jeff Miller, vice president, Commercial Sales, ABB LV Drives. "And then we learn what the participants thought -- because, unsolicited, they begin to send us their reaction."
Here's a sample of what those attendees said:
-- As always, it was great to see you. You are always a pleasure to hang with. I thought the meeting in Milwaukee was a great idea. Not being much of a gambler I certainly enjoyed seeing more of the ABB people at the factory (rather than Vegas), as well as seeing the facility. It was a first-class meeting, as always, and we look forward to getting in on the awards next year.
-- Hopefully your golf and fishing events went well today and the weather cooperated. Sorry that I could not participate, as I needed to get back. On behalf of our company, we'd like to thank you and your staff for a great meeting. The information presented was very good and informational and the meeting was "first class." We do appreciate ABB really taking care of their reps in a very professional and first-class style!
-- I want to express my thanks to everyone at ABB for an exceptional job in hosting our '07 National Sales Meeting. Once again, you have exceeded my expectations.
-- Just a quick note to thank you for all the work you did for the national sales meeting. Your attention to us was noticed by Scott and Jim and greatly appreciated. Both Scott and Jim were really impressed by the factory. We will be up for customer visits. Their greatest favorable impression of ABB, though, was the people. They were amazed at the level of technical expertise and salesmanship (probably not a word, but you get the idea) that ALL of the ABB people exhibited.
-- Thanks for the great trip to Milwaukee. I enjoyed learning more about ABB, your upcoming products and touring the factory. Also thanks for the fishing trip. You guys did a great job putting this together. Thanks again.
