BRIDGEPORT, NJ, Nov. 16, 2004 -- An upstate New York industrial facility sought Godwin Pumps to help keep plant operations online during an aggressive maintenance and inspection of its fire-glazed brick sewer lines.
A plant shut down was not an option for a film processing facility of Eastman Kodak, based in Rochester, N.Y.
Godwin Pumps designed, manufactured, delivered, and supported a bypass pumping system, which handled flows of 32 million gallons of industrial wastewater per day, keeping the plant operational for the duration of the inspection and maintenance work.
In addition, to meet environmental standards for double wall containment on the job site, discharge pipes were wrapped with a system of plastic sheeting. Twelve-inch Godwin DPC300 Dri-Prime® automatic self-priming pumps were employed in the bypass.
The Godwin Dri-Prime pump provides automatic self-priming to 28 feet of static suction lift and has the ability to run dry without damage due to its oil bath mechanical seal design. The bypass lasted seven days during which time the facility's operations continued uninterrupted.
