Blue Water Technologies has added Remy Newcombe, Ph.D., as its new chief technical officer (CTO).

Feb. 19, 2004 -- Blue Water Technologies has added Remy Newcombe, Ph.D., as its new chief technical officer (CTO).

Dr. Newcombe holds degrees in Engineering Science, Geological Sciences, and Civil Engineering. She started her professional career as a consulting environmental geophysicist for projects in the southwestern United States and in Japan.

Following this she worked as a consulting geotechnical engineer in Idaho, managing a lead and copper corrosion control study for the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality and the Idaho Rural Water Association. Following the consulting work, she returned to school to study environmental chemistry and water treatment.

Dr. Newcombe completed her doctoral work in Civil Engineering In May 2003 at the University of Idaho. Her research focused on removing arsenic from drinking water.

This work included the development of an innovative, highly effective process that not only takes arsenic out of water, but phosphorus, selenium, and heavy metals as well. This process forms the core for Blue Water Technologies' water treatment product line.
