Exaeris Water Innovations, University of Tulsa announce patent issuance for new water technology

The atmospheric water generating (AWG) project is unique because of its small and portable size, production capacity.

TULSA, OK, DEC 18, 2018 -- Exaeris Water Innovations, LLC and The University of Tulsa are excited to announce that a patent has been issued for a revolutionary water technology. The atmospheric water generating (AWG) project was spearheaded at TU by Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Todd Otanicar and a team of developers. The AWG technology is unique because of its small and portable size, production capacity, variable powering capabilities (to include solar) and scalability. Otanicar, who is also co-founder and chief scientist for Exaeris, said, "The technology being developed here leverages advances in multiple fields to create a system with limited moving parts and quiet operation to generate water with no harmful byproducts."

The field of atmospheric water generation is an emerging market, and Exaeris' newly patented technology fills a distinct gap in the marketplace for outdoor adventurers, survivalists, mobile living, disaster recovery and military personnel. Exaeris is developing an affordable line of AWG products and peripheral devices that efficiently and economically produce water from moisture in the air, providing a reliable source of fresh water in areas where access is limited.

Exaeris anticipates its AWG products will save lives and improve conditions during future natural or man-made disasters. The design also will alleviate the fear of little to no access to fresh drinking water. "We are very excited for the life-changing potential this technology has to ease hardship in times when water is needed the most," said John Galbraith, co-founder and chief executive officer of Exaeris. "This patent will provide significant opportunities as we build our current pipeline of products and continue to develop exciting technologies."

TU exclusively has licensed the technology to Exaeris, who has completed its first round of funding to begin commercialization. Exaeris will unveil the new technology at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January of 2019 and expects to have the final product ready for market later that year.

Exaeris Water Innovations, LLC is a closely-held Delaware limited liability company with primary offices located in Tulsa, Okla. For more information about the company and its products, visit Exaeris.com.
