RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA, Sept. 12, 2005 (PRNewswire-FirstCall) -- AquaCell Technologies Inc., a company that markets and manufactures various water filtration and purification products including applications for municipal, industrial and commercial use, announced today that its Aquacell Water Inc. subsidiary has received its first order for its arsenic removal system for a municipal water supplier.

Additionally, pilot tests for the company's proprietary arsenic removal systems are being conducted in Arizona, California, Nevada and New Mexico, areas that are known to have excessive arsenic levels in drinking water.

By Jan. 23, 2006, municipal water systems must be in compliance with the new 10ppb standard of arsenic levels in accordance with EPA regulations, which were reduced from 50ppb. It is estimated that compliance will cost municipalities billions of dollars to upgrade their water systems.

According to US Water News Online, in Oklahoma alone, estimates range from $55 billion to $163 billion to replace or upgrade the 25 systems to address the lower arsenic standard.

Aquacell Water provides a proprietary water treatment system that can remove arsenic from municipal water systems with zero wastewater discharge providing a more cost effective way of complying with the new federally imposed regulations. Its systems are designed to operate with minimal operator interface, require no onsite chemicals and have lower capital and operating costs than competing systems.

Robert L. Roberts, vice president of engineering and sales of Aquacell Water stated, "We are pleased to be a part of resolving the issues surrounding excessive arsenic levels and are well positioned to aggressively work towards capturing a share of this multi-billion market with our proprietary system."

As previously announced, AquaCell Technologies Inc., intends to spin off Aquacell Water Inc to its shareholders upon SEC approval of the Form 10 Registration Statement, anticipated in Fall 2005.

AquaCell (www.aquacell.com), based in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., through its AquaCell Media Inc. operating subsidiary, installs its patented self-filling Aquacell 1000 Bottled Water Cooler Systems free of charge into various locations, including retail establishments. AquaCell Media retains ownership of the coolers, and revenue is generated through the sale of targeted advertising on the band of the cooler's permanently attached five-gallon bottle of products and/or services pertinent to the location, similar to the concept of billboard advertising. The company also manufactures products for water filtration and purification through its Aquacell Water Inc. subsidiary. Its products address various water treatment applications for industrial, commercial, institutional and residential applications. These applications range from providing purified drinking water to processing water for industrial and commercial manufacturing.
