• Water industry professionals convene in Washington to bring critical water issues to members of Congress
WASHINGTON, DC, April 13, 2007 -- On April 17, U.S. Representative Ron Kind (D-WI) will speak to over 100 water industry professionals from across the country about his recently introduced legislation that seeks to increase conservation spending to provide cleaner air, water, and wildlife habitat. The bill, The Healthy Farms, Foods, and Fuels Act of 2007 (HR1551), would greatly enhance efforts to protect sources of drinking water for US cities and towns. The address is part of the American Water Works Association's (AWWA) annual Washington D.C. Fly-In during which water professionals from across the country bring critical water issues to the attention of their Members of Congress.
