SACRAMENTO, CA, Sept. 22, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The state Department of Water Resources (DWR) is making clarifications and modifications to the Final Proposition 50 Water Use Efficiency Proposal Solicitation Package (PSP) issued on Aug. 11 and discussed at workshops on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 and 2.
Since its release, DWR has received a number of comments and concerns from agricultural, urban, and environmental stakeholders. To effectively address the concerns and issues raised, DWR is making the above mentioned clarifications and modifications to the PSP.
The proposed changes are expected to be released by the end of September. The proposed final document and other public comments will then be discussed with the CALFED Bay-Delta Authority (CBDA) on Oct. 14.
DWR plans to announce the release of the Final PSP in its revised form by the end of October and three PSP workshops will be held in November. The deadline for proposal application submittal is currently expected to be Jan. 3, 2005. However, the submittal date will be set forth in the revised Final PSP.
This grant program funds agricultural and urban water use efficiency projects.
The Department of Water Resources operates and maintains the State Water Project, provides dam safety and flood control and inspection services, assists local water districts in water management and water conservation planning, and plans for future statewide water needs.
