Mueller Co. recently announced a new H-306HP fabricated steel tapping sleeve. Designed for hot tapping ductile iron pipe and thick-wall C900 plastic pipe, the H-306HP is made from A36 fabricated steel and meets the requirements of AWWA C223. It features an integral bolt flange, Rilsan nylon coating, working pressures up to 300 psi, and is available in sizes from 4” to 16”. This economical tapping sleeve is ideally suited for use with Mueller CL-12, CL36, and Mega-Lite drilling machines in less corrosive soil environments.
SIGMA’s One-Lok Series SLDE wedge action restrainer gland for 54-, 60-, and 64-inch ductile iron pipes can serve as a way to reround large diameter pipes in the field. Larger ductile iron pipes are susceptible to shift in transit and handling, often requiring the use of hydraulic jacks on job sites to restore full roundness and specificity prior to installation. SUEZ Spray-in-Place Pipeline (SIPP) rehabilitation process is a trenchless, efficient and long-lasting solution for the restoration of aging underground piping systems. The SIPP technology uses a computer-controlled, state-of-the-art robotic spray application rig to apply an internal epoxy pipe lining in-situ. The NSF 61-approved, 100%-solids epoxy coating bonds with the pipe, preventing and sealing cracks, and moves with the structure thanks to its high level of elasticity, abating leaks caused by settling. Once cured, it creates a structural seal inside the pipe which restores the pipeline to its original design parameters, prevents future leaks and protects against contaminants leaching into the system.
AMERICAN’s fabricated wall pipe uses ductile iron components in combination with the following: cast or threaded on mechanical joint bells (can be tapped for studs), flanges (can be tapped for studs) and welded-on collars. Wall pipe is normally fabricated of special thickness class 53 ductile iron pipe, but it may be furnished with minimum classes unless threaded flanges or threaded mechanical joint bells are included or unless specified otherwise. Wall pipes with centrifugally cast mechanical joint bells will be provided instead with heavy-duty steel key locking thread inserts to accept threaded studs.
