Tacoma water pipeline replacement project concludes bid process, names contractor

AUBURN, WA, May 4, 2011 -- After an extensive bid process, Jennings Northwest has been selected as contractor for the city of Tacoma's $830,000 water distribution pipe replacement project.

The Puyallup River Valley Replacement Phase IIA project will ensure continuing provision of high-quality potable water by the city of Tacoma. Under the contract, Jennings will replace 1,300 linear feet of 39" above-ground riveted pipe with nearly 1,400 linear feet of 36" diameter buried welded steel pipe.

The project will run in the vicinity of Highway 162 near Orting, Wash., on the west side of the Puyallup River valley. Work is scheduled to begin in August and expected to conclude by December.
