• Proven technology to serve as cornerstone of comprehensive geoengineering solution for greater benefits

BROOMFIELD, CO, Sept. 2, 2009 -- MWH Soft, a leading global provider of environmental and water resources applications software, today announced that the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Emirate of Dubai, has elected to deploy multiple licenses of InfoWater Executive Suite and InfoSurge, the industry's premier ArcGIS-centric (ESRI, Redlands, California) infrastructure modeling, management and optimization software. Made following a competitive review, the selection is the latest example of the global move toward MWH Soft's advanced geospatial infrastructure modeling and design solutions.

DEWA, a government corporation, was formed on January 1, 1992, to take over and merge the independently operating Dubai Electric Company and Dubai Water Department. Today, DEWA employs a workforce of about 7,700 employees and is the sole supplier of electricity and water to the Emirate of Dubai. It operates and maintains some 880 km of water transmission mains ranging from 900 mm to 1,200 mm, and has a combined reservoir capacity of 300 MIG. Water consumption reached 83,397 million gallons in 2008, compared to 72,588 million gallons in 2007.

DEWA chose to standardize on MWH Soft geocentric modeling technology suite for a number of critical reasons. Among them are its reputation in the market, proven track record, excellent technical capabilities, seamless ArcGIS integration, rich functionality, incredible simulation speed, strong technical support. MWH Soft solutions are very user friendly, and give us the power to quickly and accurately model and analyze our large and complex water system directly within our ArcGIS platform. These capabilities will help us considerably in planning and optimizing our capital improvement program while continuing to give our customers the best long-term value at the lowest possible cost."

Built atop ArcGIS with native geodatabase support, the innovative network modeling technology of the MWH Soft geocentric software suite is unlike competing products. It addresses every facet of utility infrastructure management and protection, delivering the highest rate of return in the industry. Users can choose the tools that best fit their needs, from creating detailed all-pipe models, analyzing various hydraulic, water quality and transient conditions, and identifying system deficiencies to designing new facilities, optimizing operations and performance, determining protective measures and security upgrades, and expanding and rehabilitating existing systems. The suite also allows users to share mission-critical GIS and modeling information in real time on the Internet and corporate intranets to facilitate collaboration and decision making.

"Top water utilities worldwide have standardized the development of their hydraulic network models around MWH Soft software," noted J. Erick Heath, P.E., Vice President of Sales and Client Relations for MWH Soft. "Powerful and easy to use, InfoWater and InfoSurge will help DEWA improve productivity, realize many efficiencies in a short time, and pass these benefits on to their customers through better designs and higher quality standards. Seeing technology-leading utilities like DEWA switch to our products is the most rewarding possible confirmation of their value."

Paul F. Boulos, Ph.D., Hon.D.WRE MWH Soft's President and COO, added: "We are deeply honored to expand our relationship with DEWA and support its vital mission with world-class engineering GIS hydraulic and transient modeling, design and optimization solutions. The increasing adoption rate of our state-of-the-art, industry-leading solutions in the Middle East is a powerful indicator of the value they provide our customers in this water-scarce region. DEWA is clearly aiming for a big technological impact, one with the power to deliver dramatically improved efficiency and enhanced service quality to its customers. We are proud to offer the high-performing software that will enable this prominent agency to set itself apart, enhance its infrastructure management, effect maximum savings, and build a foundation for success in the decades to come."
