DENVER, Oct. 20, 2005 -- Joan Miller, senior vice president of client development and marketing for CH2M Hill's Industrial Client Group, was today named 2005 Corporate Woman of the Year by the Women's Vision Foundation. The award, presented during the 8th annual Women's Success Forum held here, recognizes a prominent woman executive in the Denver metro area who exemplifies outstanding professional achievement, quality performance, creativity and work/life balance.

For more than 25 years, Miller has provided leadership in engineering and management for CH2M Hill, a global full-service engineering, construction, and operations firm based in Englewood, Colo. She has held a wide variety of project management, business development, and business strategy roles related to the firm's federal and private-sector businesses.

Recently, Miller was credited for her leadership on the CH2M Hill team that acquired and integrated Lockwood Greene, America's oldest professional services firm with more than $600 million in annual revenues and 2,500 employees.

Miller's staunch advocacy of management innovation has led to numerous company-wide process improvements and effective business management tools as CH2M Hill grew to its present 15,000 employee owners. She was also instrumental in building the company's Women's Employee Network Group, creating a more inclusive culture supporting the attraction, development and retention of women executives.

"The leadership Joan exemplifies here at CH2M Hill illustrates her ability to provide vision, balance and innovation in all that she accomplishes for the firm," said president and CEO Ralph Peterson. "We congratulate Joan in receiving this prestigious award, which recognizes that her distinctive accomplishments are deserving of such an honor."

The all-day Women's Success Forum, held at the Adam's Mark in downtown Denver, attracted more than 1,000 woman executives representing companies throughout the Denver metro area.

With headquarters in Denver, employee-owned CH2M Hill (www.ch2mhill.com) is a global firm providing engineering, construction, operations, and related technical services to public and private clients. With more than $3 billion in revenue, the company is an industry leading program management, construction management for fee, and design firm, as ranked by Engineering-News Record (2005).
