PHOENIX, AZ, Feb. 11, 2008 -- CH2M Hill, a global full-service engineering, construction and operations firm, announced that earlier this year it received a contract from the City of Glendale, Ariz. to provide project management, engineering design, permitting and construction services for the Zone 4 Groundwater Treatment Plant project.
"The project will provide the City with not only added supply to meet growth but also operational flexibility and reliability," said Scott Trusler, Project Manager.
Nearby groundwater wells will provide water to the plant which will use ion exchange technology to remove nitrate. The new plant will be located on the City's Oasis Water Campus where a surface water treatment plant was recently commissioned.
Project highlights for this 10 million gallon per day treatment facility will include design of a conveyance system from the groundwater well sites to the plant, well rehabilitation and development of replacement wells. CH2M Hill will also be responsible for securing all necessary city, county, state and federal permits for the project. During construction, CH2M Hill will work closely with Sundt Construction Inc. , providing construction administrative services including construction inspection and testing. The project is scheduled for completion in Dec. 2009.
