DETROIT, MI, Nov. 20, 2009 -- Detroit-based Inland Waters Pollution Control (Inland), a leading national provider of underground rehabilitation solutions with offices throughout the U.S., will host a community appreciation event timed to Thanksgiving that will offer a job fair, free health screenings and giveaways of 500 turkeys on Tuesday, November 24th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Inland CEO Joseph Cutillo made the announcement.
The event will be held at Inland's headquarters located at 4086 Michigan Avenue at Clark Street in Detroit and is open to Detroit residents ages 18 and older. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with several Detroit-based companies involved in the infrastructure arena that will be hiring approximately 30 Detroit residents as employees in the months to come. Including Inland, these companies will be looking for qualified individuals to fill positions such as contractors, truck drivers, project managers, engineers, laborers and equipment operators. Potential employees should be prepared for brief introductory interviews at the job fair.
Quality Home Health Care Services of Michigan has also graciously volunteered their staff and services to offer free health care screenings to potential candidates and seniors at the Inland event. The free screenings will include blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol checks. The onsite medical personnel will also be available to offer after-care treatment advice.
The Inland Waters Pollution Control team will also be donating 500 turkeys for Thanksgiving to attendees in honor of the holiday.
"We are thrilled to have this opportunity to give back to our community here in Detroit," said Cutillo. "To collaborate with other companies here in Detroit to offer job opportunities to the city's residents, and offer assistance with health and food for the holidays in the process, is just one way of us to share our thanks at this time."
