DENVER, Sept. 19, 2007 -- Two Florida cities, Quincy and Live Oak, have added at least 10 more years of partnership with CH2M HILL OMI.
Each community voted Aug. 28 to renew their contracts with CH2M HILL OMI another five years, keeping the company's experts on-site to deliver a range of operations and maintenance services.
"Being selected to continue these long-term relationships highlights the community value and cost efficiencies we can provide to our municipal partners," says Mark Lasswell, president of CH2M HILL OMI.
Building on a 14-year history, Quincy commissioners unanimously approved a 5-year agreement with a 5-year automatic renewal for CH2M HILL OMI to operate and maintain the city's water and wastewater plants and lift stations. The company's performance and safety practices in Quincy have earned six awards in the past four years.
And continuing a partnership that began in 1997, the Live Oak city council approved a 5-year contract with a 5-year automatic renewal for CH2M HILL OMI to manage the city's water and wastewater facilities and spray field, as well as a public works agreement -- first added in 2005. Public works services include solid waste collection and disposal; city vehicle repair; and maintenance of streets, the cemetery, and public spaces and grounds. CH2M HILL OMI's partnership with Live Oak earned the National Council for Public Private Partnerships' Partnership Award in the service category in 2005.
Located in Florida's panhandle, Quincy has about 7,000 residents. Live Oak is home to about 7,000 in north-central Florida. Both are among a dozen Florida communities that trust CH2M HILL OMI for their operations and maintenance needs.
CH2M HILL OMI provides a range of custom-tailored operations and maintenance solutions. The company's services include water and wastewater system optimization; contract O&M of water, wastewater and other utilities; and complete municipal operations, including administration, public works and community development.
Employee-owned CH2M HILL is a $5 billion global firm providing engineering, construction, operations and related technical services to public and private clients.
