PASADENA, CA, Nov. 22, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced that a subsidiary company has received an indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Transatlantic Programs Center based in Winchester, Va.

The $30 million, five-year contract (one year base, plus four option years) includes architectural and engineering design and construction management services for projects in the Middle East, Africa, and the Central Asian States of the former Soviet Union.

Officials anticipate that the projects under this contract will include major military construction as well as infrastructure rehabilitation and reconstruction. The work may encompass a wide variety of facility types, such as airports, terminals, and hangars; barracks and dormitories; dining halls and restaurants; garages and maintenance facilities; warehouses and depots; office buildings; power generation, transmission, and distribution; highways; wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal; water supply, treatment, and disposal; and utilities.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group vice president Warren Dean stated, "We have supported the Army Corps of Engineers with a wide range of services ever since World War II. This contract represents a continuation of design and construction management work for projects in these strategically important areas of the world."
