The American Water Works Association has released the 2017 Let’s Talk Safety book and DVD set. Designed to make it easy for utility safety officers to communicate with employees about the critical importance of working safely, the materials remove the time and uncertainty that is often required when preparing safety presentations. The book provides 52 short briefings tailored specifically for water utility employees along with links to additional resources. Each briefing covers a single key topic. The DVD also contains the 52 weekly safety talks as a PDF on CD and includes 12 video clips on DVD to enhance one talk a month.

A new book titled Urban Water Security argues that cities need to transition from supply-side to demand-side management to achieve urban water security. The book, written by Robert C. Brears, provides readers with a series of in-depth case studies of leading developed cities, of differing climates, incomes and lifestyles from around the world, that have used demand management tools to modify the attitudes and behavior of water users in an attempt to achieve urban water security.
