May 6, 2002 -- Water systems, consulting firms and others looking for qualified trainers of the AwwaRF/Sandia vulnerability assessment methodology will find a list of these trainers on AMWA's web site at www.amwa.net/security_resources/resources.html.
Sandia National Laboratories, in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), developed a train-the-trainer course on the AwwaRF/Sandia vulnerability assessment tool to allow other professional trainers to begin offering this course throughout the United States.
A total of 17 organizations are being trained by Sandia during May. The goal of the program is to provide certified trainers that will be available to consultants, water utilities, and government/tribal entities to support EPA's objective to have vulnerability assessments conducted at large water utilities.
All certified trainers are required to publicly provide this training course. Additional information can be found on EPA's web site at http://www.epa.gov/safewater/security.
