The city of Sacramento has called the actions of the so-called "water vigilante" "trespassing, at the very least."

SACRAMENTO, CA, SEPTEMBER 8, 2016 – An unknown person has been shutting off Tahoe Park residents' water in the middle of the night, according to local TV station KTXL.

Assuming the person is taking a stand for California's serious drought status, residents have labeled the person the "water vigilante."

Homeowners have reported that their main water valves were shut off while sprinkler systems were in use, and that some plants in their yards were dug up and replaced with cactuses in the last few weeks.

The city of Sacramento has called the actions of the so-called "water vigilante" "trespassing, at the very least," although local police say they have received no official complaints.
