MORGANTOWN, WV, April 23, 2003 -- Small and rural community utilities face the same financial, technical, and managerial issues that big cities do. However, they face bigger challenges finding help.
The National Environmental Training Center for Small Communities' (NETCSC) Fourth Annual "Institute" in Morgantown, W.V., July 29-August 1, will provide updates on drinking water or wastewater regulations and advice on managing a small community system or assessing wastewater options.
The schedule for NETCSC's Environmental Training Institute for Small Communities "Protecting Public Health: Water and Wastewater Solutions for a New Era" is now available.
The Institute offers four days of intensive training about security for drinking water systems, emergency response planning, onsite alternative wastewater treatment technology, and related sessions that can help assistance providers, local officials, and others involved with small communities do their jobs better.
A limited number of fee waivers are available for local officials working in communities with fewer than 10,000 residents.
