WEF to hold 9th annual Industrial Wastes Technical and Regulatory Conference

The Water Environment Federation (WEF) will hold its 9th annual Industrial Wastes Technical and Regulatory Conference April 13-16 in San Antonio, Texas.


ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 27, 2003 -- The Water Environment Federation (WEF) will hold its 9th annual Industrial Wastes Technical and Regulatory Conference April 13-16 in San Antonio, Texas.

This conference and exhibition is a nationally and internationally recognized event that will focus on technical research, regulatory and industrial environmental issues.

Co-chaired by Sam Shelby (Advent Group) and Andrew Edwards (ERM), the conference will be held in cooperation with the Water Environment Association of Texas, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF), Water Reuse Association, Industrial Wastewater Newsletter and Purdue University.

"This year's event promises to be the best yet in terms of the technical quality of the conference, participation from local industries, the latest regulatory input, and networking opportunities," Shelby said.

Events will kick off on Sunday, April 13 with a full day of interactive workshops, followed by two full days of technical, research and regulatory sessions, networking receptions and exhibition.

The total of 15 sessions will feature such topics as water reuse, conservation, and pollution prevention, biological and chemical/physical treatment, industrial stormwater issues, contaminated sediments, groundwater and hazardous wastes treatment, and regulatory, permitting and legislative issues.

A half day of technical sessions will conclude the conference Wednesday, April 16.

More than 300 professionals from manufacturing industries, consulting businesses, equipment manufacturers, academia, researchers and regulatory officials are expected to attend.
