CAMBRIDGE, MA, Nov. 6, 2009 -- Timothy Stinson, P.E., of S E A Consultants Inc., was presented the New England Water Works Association (NEWWA) Award of Merit.
The annual award is bestowed upon an individual who has been a member of the association for a minimum of five years and who has demonstrated, in the opinion of the Award of Merit Committee, the highest level of outstanding service to NEWWA, a water utility, the water works practice, or any combination.
Stinson, who is from Holbrook, Mass., works in S E A Consultants' Water Resources Group. His work on water resource projects throughout the New England region includes pre-design client consultation, design of complex water supply and storage facilities, field engineering during construction phase, start-up assistance, and consultation after project completion. Stinson is also a valued mentor who has shared his engineering expertise with countless young engineers through classes, seminars, and one-on-one mentoring sessions.
"Tim brings a wealth of knowledge of water resource engineering and truly creative problem-solving to bear on some of the most challenging projects for our clients," said Mary Loden, P.E., manager of S E A's Water Resources Group. "I'm delighted that he was selected to receive the Award of Merit."
Stinson is the chairman of NEWWA's Distribution & Storage Committee and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers' Pipeline Division Executive Committee.
The Executive Committee is responsible for the advancement and correlation of scientific knowledge and engineering practice, the promotion and coordination of socio-economic and environmental development, and construction of engineering projects relative to the transmission of liquids, gases, or solids by pipelines.
